Isabel Leonard, Dashon Burton, Katalin Károlyi, Limmie Pulliam Headline New World Symphony’s 2023-24 Season

The New World Symphony has announced its 2023-24 season, which will be the first by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

Denève will lead music by Prokofiev, Lieberson, and James Lee III. Mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor performs.

Performance Dates: Oct. 14 & 15, 2023

Mezzo-soprano Katalin Károlyi headlines a concert featuring music by Cage, Allison Loggins-Hull, Gabriela Ortiz, and Ligeti. Michael Linville conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 27, 2023

Douglas Boyd conducts Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Soloists include Joélle Harvey, Ronnita Miller, Limmie Pulliam, and Musa Ngqungwana. The concert features music by Rhiannon Giddens and Janácek.

Performance Dates: Jan. 13, 2024 

Isabel Leonard will perform music by Ravel in a concert also featuring works by Florent Schmitt and Albert Roussel. Stéphane Denève conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 20 & 21, 2024

Tenor Karim Sulayman will perform in a concert featuring music by Debussy, Hildegard von Bingen, Beethoven, and Britten.

Performance Dates: Feb. 18, 2024

Baritone Dashon Burton will headline a concert showcasing music by Michael Tilson Thomas, Copland, and Tchaikovsky. Tilson Thomas conducts.

Performance Dates: March 16, 2024
