The Concorso Internazionale di Canto Giacomo Puccini in China has announced that Irene Celle has won the first prize.

The Genoa soprano has won numerous awards including First prize at the Giuseppe Taddei competition in 2021 while she won second prize at the Marmo all’Opera in 2022. She was a Rossini Opera Festival Young Artist in 2022 as well as a participant of Parma’s Verdi Academy. Celle has performed at the Teatro Ponchielli, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Grande di Brescia, and Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Celle performed alongside maestro Bernardo Pellegrini.
