International Resource Center for Performing Artists Opens Applications for ‘Ten Singing Stars – New Generation’

By Logan Martell

On May 21, 2021, the International Resource Centre for Performing Artists will launch the fourth edition of its “Ten Singing Stars – New Generation.”

Ten singers will have a chance to work with Theodore Baerg, one of Canada’s leading baritones; accompanied by Andrea Grant, they will offer suggestions on artistic skills, and provide career information and guidance.

Signup for the program is free and will be open until May 9, with the winners being announced on May 15. Each singer will receive an honorarium for performing, and Baerg will select one performer who will receive a three-day “Career Blueprint” intensive from Baerg himself, which will include career advice, and promotional materials such as new video and audio recordings, photographs, feedback auditions, and mentoring, at the National Opera America Center in New York.

The IRCPA is supported by the Azireli Foundation, Toronto Arts Council, The New Classical FM, Remenyi House of Music, private donors, partners, and volunteers. Currently, a professor of voice and coordinataor/director of the opera program at Western University in London, Ontario, Theodore Baerg has performed throughout Canada and the United States in operas, oratorios, concerts, and more.
