The International Mozarteum Foundation has opened the long-awaited new foyer. Maria Flöckner and Hermann Schnöll served as the architects for the projects.

For the past two years, renovations have taken place to add an extra 370 square meters (circa 4,000 square feet) to the existing buildings. The old foyer now links to the two buildings with glass panels; creating a multitude of natural light and a new event space.

Concertgoers can gain access to and from the concert wing to the Bastion Gardens via a wide glass staircase, as well as the Baroque bastion wall.

Still, more renovations are underway with the first stage in the renovations for the Great Hall.
