The International Mai-Festival Wiesbaden has announced a cast change for an upcoming production.

The company revealed that German-Russian soprano Anastasiya Taratorkina will take the role of Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro,” replacing Joyce El-Khoury. She joins a cast starring Slávka Zámecniková, Konstantin Krimmel, Heather Engebretson, Franziska Gottwald, and Erik Biegel, among others.

Konrad Junghänel conducts a production directed by Uwe Eric Laufenberg.

A winner of the 70th International ARD Music Competition in 2021, Taratorkina is slated to perform in productions of “Der Ring des Nibelungen,” “Der Freischütz,” and “Falstaff” in Wiesbaden throughout the remainder of the season. She recently appeared in productions of “Hänsel and Gretel,” “Die lustige Witwe, and “Die Zauberflöte,” also in Wiesbaden.

“Le Nozze di Figaro” opens on May 29, 2024.
