International Contemporary Ensemble to Present ‘A Pin Drops’

By Francisco Salazar

International Contemporary Ensemble joins contemporary string quartet The Rhythm Method for “A Pin Drops.”

The program, which will premiere new works by composers Kevin Ramsay and Lewis Nielson at Target Margin Theater in Brooklyn, will be presented on Oct. 28.

The opening of the program will be “A Pin Drops Like a Pungent Odor” for string quartet and contrabass, commissioned and performed by the Ensemble.

The second half of the program features “The Rhythm Method,” for flutist, soprano, and sound artist Alice Teyssier, in Lewis Nielson’s “Pastorale para los pobres de la tierra.” The work is inspired by the work of Antonio Machado and Pablo Neruda, as well as the Canticles of Saint Francis of Assisi, Pastorale para los pobres de la tierra.

The evening will showcase soloists Josh Modney, Marina Kifferstein, Carrie Frey, Meaghan Burke, Randall Zigler, Alice Teyssier, and Leah Asher.
