Ermonela Jaho has canceled tonight’s performance of “Madama Butterfly.”

The Metropolitan Opera announced via Twitter that due to illness Jaho would not be able to perform.

As a result, Inna Dukach will sing the role of Cio-Cio-San, making her Met debut. Dukach, who has been covering “Madama Butterfly” since the fall, sang the role of Cio-Cio-San in Anchorage and Atlanta. She recently performed “La Bohème” in Rochester and Lubbock. She next performs Mimì in Taiwan. Dukach has performed at the Royal Opera, New York City Opera, Hawaii Opera, Opera Colorado, San Diego Opera, and Opera Carolina.

Jaho is expected to return for the final performance of “Madama Butterfly” on March 16, 2018.

Dukach joins Dwyane Croft and Luis Chapa for tonight’s performance. Marco Armiliato conducts.
