Independent Opera Company To Present ‘The Snow Maiden’

The Independent Opera Company is set to showcase Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Snow Maiden” on July 5, 6, 12, and 13 at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Los Angeles, California.

The opera will star Erica Lazerow as the title heroine for the second and third performances, with Brooke Iva Lohman opening and closing the run. Alexis Wesley as the Spring Beauty while Joseph Dhanens will be the Grandfather Frost. Joseph Buhler will be the Sprite / First Herald, while Phil Pritchard will be Bobyl Bakula.

Other cast members include Katrina Dubbs, Katya Gruzglina, Michael O’Halloran, Joseph Matthews, Andrew Walk, Eli Katz, and Erin Batali.

“Set to beautiful, folk-inspired music this work is very popular in Russia, yet its not that well known in other parts of the world and to our knowledge has never been performed in Los Angeles! Don’t miss this unique production with IOC all star cast,” says the company’s official website.

The production will be directed by Christina Jensen and Galina Barskaya will lead the performance in a piano reduction.
