IN Series Unveils 2024-25 Season, ‘Illicit Opera’

First up is “The Cradle will Rock” starring
Marvin Wayne Allen, Melanie Ashkar, Teresa Ferrara, Daniel Fleming, Jacob Heacock, Rob McGinness, Cecelia McKinley, Daniel Smith, and Louisa Waycott. Shanara Gabrielle directs and Emily Baltzer conducts.
Performance Dates: Oct. 5-20, 2024
Then comes “Rigoletto” in a production directed by Timothy Nelson and featuring a new English text by Bari Biern. Emily Baltzer conducts a cast featuring Marvin Wayne Allen, Melanie Ashkar, Teresa Ferrara, Daniel Fleming, Jacob Heacock, Rob McGinness, Cecelia McKinley, Daniel Smith, and Louisa Waycott.
Performance Dates: Dec. 7-15, 2024
Caitlin Wood, Aryssa Leigh Burrs, Daniel Moody, Maribeth Diggle, Peter Walker, Oliver Mercer, Rob McGinness, Dawna Rae Warren, Chuanyuan Liu, and Yudy Yannini headline “Poppea.” Timothy Nelson conducts and directs the production.
Performance Dates: March 14-30, 2025
Closing out the season is “Ethiopia,” a work by Janelle Gill. Timothy Nelson directs. The work was originally banned by the Roosevelt administration in 1937 and it was never performed thereafter. It explores the story of a leading black soprano, Mayme Richardson, that became an activist for Ethiopian causes.
