Ildar Abdrazakov & Davide Luciano Lead Lyric Opera Of Chicago’s ‘Don Giovanni’

The Lyric Opera of Chicago is set to present “Don Giovanni’ in a production by Robert Falls.

The revival of the production that premiered during the 2014-15 season will star Ildar Abdrazakov and Davide Luciano, both making Lyric debuts in the title role. They will appear alongside Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Donna Anna and Ben Bliss as Don Ottavio.

Other cast members will be include Amanda Majeski as Donna Elvira and Matthew Rose as Leporello, Mika Kares who will portray the Commendatore, Ying Fang who will perform Zerlina, and Brandon Cedel who will sing Masetto will all make Lyric debuts.

James Gaffigan will conduct the production which features sets by Walter Spangler, costumes by Ana Kuzmanic, lighting by Duane Schuler and choreography by August Tye.

Performances are scheduled to begin on Nov. 14 through Dec. 8, 2019.
