Ian Page and The Mozartists To Explore Mozart’s Travels
By Francisco SalazarIan Page and The Mozartists are set to return to Wigmore Hall and make their debut at Lichfield Festival with a program exploring Mozart’s travels across Europe.
The concert performances will be comprised of a mixture of concertos, symphonies and arias composed in London, The Hague, Paris, Munich, Vienna, Prague and Rome.
Soprano Louise Alder will perform three arias, including Ilia’s “Se il padre perdei” from” Idomeneo,” and principals from The Mozartists will perform two of Mozart’s most popular concertos – Mozart’s Concerto in C major for Flute and Harp sand the composer’s Horn Concerto No. 4 in E flat major.
Throughout his childhood Mozart traveled a vast amount and the featured works in the program range from the eight-year-old Mozart’s first symphony, composed in London, to his horn concerto and “Bella mia fiamma… Resta, o cara,” written in his thirties.
The concerts will be on July 8 at the Wigmore Hall, London and on July 9 at the Lichfield Festival.
