Ópera en Cine is set to present Verdi’s “I Masnadieri” from the Teatro alla Scala.

The opera will be presented throughout Spain starting Jan. 16 in such cities as Barcelona, Bilbao, and Valencia, Zaragoza.

Earlier in October the production was shown on Rai5 in Italy.

”I Masnadieri” was presented at the Teatro alla Scala this past summer in a new production by Sir. David McVicar and boasted an all-star cast led by Lisette Oropesa, Fabio Sartori, Massimo Cavalletti, and Michele Pertusi. Michele Mariotti led the production. Of the production, OperaWire stated, “Lisette Oropesa Shines In Troubled Verdi Opera.”

The production marked Oropesa’s La Scala debut and marked yet another success in her career following acclaim at the Teatro Real de Madrid, Opéra de Paris, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
