Hudson Hall Board Names New Executive Director

Adam Weinert has been named the Executive Director of Hudson Hall.

Weinert, a cultural leader and renowned choreographer, takes over for Tambra Dillon, who is stepping down after 13 years at the helm. He takes over in the fall full time.

“My relationship with Hudson Hall began over ten years ago, and it’s remained a creative home ever since,” said Weinert per an official press release. “Stepping into this role is deeply meaningful, and I’m grateful to the board and staff for their trust as we begin this next chapter together.”

Weinert’s relationship with Hudson Hall started in 2014 when he first appeared as an artist-in-residence and developed “Monument,” a work that premiered at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Among his other works is “Rip the Nut,” which mashes up the “Nutcracker Suite” with the Rip Van Winkle story, as well as the “Waterfront Wednesday” community series. His choreography has been presented at Museum of Modern Art, New York, Tate Britain, Tate Modern, and the Palais Garnier.

Weinert has served as Artistic Associate at Kaatsbaan Cultural Park, Executive Director of the Hudson Sloop Club, Chair of the Hudson Arts Coalition, and COO of the Tiger House boutique hotel.

“It’s been my honor to serve this extraordinary institution and community,” added Dillon regarding the transition. “I’ve known Adam as both an artist and a collaborator for many years, and I’m confident that under his leadership, Hudson Hall will continue to thrive as a beacon for the arts in the Hudson Valley. I’m excited to pass the baton to a new generation and especially to someone who brings fresh energy, deep local knowledge, and a heartfelt commitment to Hudson Hall’s mission as a civic partner and creative hub for our community.”
