Huang Ruo to Headline Lincoln Center’s ‘American Songbook’ Series

Lincoln Center has announced the return of performances to the David Rubenstein Atrium, including the “American Songbook: A World of Voices” series this April.

Scheduled between April 14-30, the “American Songbook” series, while not featuring operatic works specifically, includes a vast array of performances by international singers and composers.

Opera devotees will be particularly interested in the showcase scheduled for April 22, 2022, which will feature the music of Huang Ruo, the composer of “An American Soldier.” This 90-minute concert will include a vast array of his opera arias performed by such artists as Karen Vuong, Fang-Tao Jiang, Nina Yoshida Nelsen, Tian-Chi Zhang, Wayne Tigges, and Stephen Buck.

Other artists featured in the series include Linda Briceño, Emel Mathlouthi, Alsarah and The Nubatones, Gaby Moreno, Aurelio and the Garifuna Soul Band, Jaime Lozano, Natu Camara, and Kiran Ahluwaila.
