How & When to Live Stream Verdi’s ‘Falstaff’ From Vienna State Opera

Verdi’s final masterpiece “Falstaff” will be live stream to audiences worldwide from the Vienna State Opera on Jan. 30, 2019.

The Italian comedy will feature a production by David McVicar with James Conlon as the musical director. Carlos Alvarez takes on the title role with the likes of Simon Keenlyside, Jinxu Xiahou, Olga Bezsmertna, Hila Fahima, and Monika Bohinec also in the cast.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. local time and ends at around 9:45 p.m. That’s 1 p.m. EST and 11 a.m. PST.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

The company’s live stream slate for February includes “Tosca,” “Arabella,” and “Idomeneo.”
