How to Watch Vienna State Opera’s Live Stream For Aida Garifullina’s ‘L’Elisir D’Amore’

Donizetti’s “L’Elsiir d’Amore” will be broadcast live from the Vienna State Opera on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, on its live streaming service.

This performance is set to feature conductor Speranza Scappucci alongside Aida Garifullina, Benjamin Bernheim, Orhan Yildiz, and Paolo Rumetz in the famed production by Otto Schenk.

Garifullina is also set to star in “Rigoletto” at the Vienna State Opera later this season, while Bernheim will get performances of “La Bohème,” and “Die Zauberflöte” with the company.

This is the second performance of the run for this cast, the opening performance taking place on Oct. 31, 2018. There will also be another run of the opera in February and June 2019 with such performers as Andrea Carroll, Francesco Meli, and Ambrogio Maestri, among others.

The stream kicks off at 8 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 10:15 p.m. That’s around 2 p.m. EDT and 11 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Don Giovanni,” “La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Die Weiden,” Hänsel und Gretel,” and “Die Fledermaus.”
