How to Watch Vienna State Opera Live Stream of ‘Hänsel und Gretel’ In Time For Christmas

Humperdinck’s iconic “Hänsel und Gretel” will be streamed online via the Vienna State Opera’s live stream service on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018.

The performance, which is set to anticipate the Christmas spirit, will star Donna Ellen, Margaret Plummer, Mariam Battistelli, Monika Bohnic, and Boaz Daniel.

This is the final performance of the run, which included showcases on Dec. 13, 17, 18, and 21.

The stream kicks off at 4 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 6 p.m. That is a start time of 10 p.m. EDT and 7 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

The 2018 slate of live streams comes to an end with “Die Fledermaus,” before the company resumes with a series of performances throughout 2019.
