How to Watch Lise Lindstrom & Waltraud Meier In ‘Elektra’ Live Streamed From Vienna State Opera

Strauss’ “Elektra” will hit small screens around the globe as part of the Vienna State Opera’s live stream series this Friday, Oct. 19, 2018.

The performance will be led by conductor Michael Boder and will star Waltraud Meier as Klytämnestra, Lise Lindstrom in the title role, Anna Gabler as Chrisothemis, Herbert Lippert as Aegisth, and René Pape as Orest. This is just the second performance of the run following the premiere this Tuesday’s performance. After the showcase on the 19th, there will be performances on oct. 22 and 25.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time and is slated to run until around 8:45 p.m. That’s around 2 p.m. EDT and 11 a.m. PST for the start time.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference for experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Lohengrin,” “Les Troyens,” “L’Elisir d’Amore,” “Don Giovanni,” La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Die Weiden,” “Hänsel und Gretel,” and “Die Fledermaus.”
