How to Stream Teatro alla Scala’s Opening Night Gala Today

The Teatro alla Scala is set to open its 2020-21 season on Dec. 7 with a gala performance entitled “A Riveder le Stelle.”

The gala, which is prerecorded and will be performed without an audience, will be streamed for audiences around the world.

The gala will be broadcast in Italy on RAI 1, RAI 1 HD, and RAI Play while in France and other French-speaking countries and in Germany and other German-speaking countries the gala will be streamed on Arte Concert. Audiences in the Czech Republic can watch it on Ceska Televize while audiences in the Americas, Australia, Africa, Spain, Portugal, North Europe, Turkey, Albania, Sweden can stream it on Medici TV.

There will also be a prerecorded broadcast in Italy on RAI 5, in France on Arte TV, and in the Republic of Korea on Il Media. Other broadcasts will be showcased in Slovenia on RTV Slovenija, in Russia on TV Kultura, in Hungary on MTVA, in Serbia on RTS, in China on CCTV, and in Japan.

For those who can not watch it, the gala will also be streamed on the radio in Italy on RAI – Radio 3.

The Teatro alla Scala’s opening night gala will showcase Ildar Abdrazakov, Roberto Alagna, Carlos Álvarez, Piotr Beczala, Benjamin Bernheim, Eleonora Buratto, Marianne Crebassa, Plácido Domingo, Rosa Feola, Juan Diego Flórez, Elīna Garanča, Vittorio Grigolo, Aleksandra Kurzak, Francesco Meli, Camilla Nylund, Kristine Opolais, Lisette Oropesa, Mirco Palazzi, George Petean, Marina Rebeka, Luca Salsi, Andreas Schager, Ludovic Tézier, and Sonya Yoncheva. Riccardo Chailly will conduct.

The gala begins at 5 p.m. CET/ 11 a.m ET.
