How to Stream Jonas Kaufmann & Anja Harteros Debuts in Bayerische Staatsoper’s ‘Tristan und Isolde’

By Francisco Salazar

The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced that it will broadcast Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” on July 31.

The company announced that the broadcast will be live and free of charge via http://staatsoper.tv and will be available for 24 hours.

“Tristan und Isolde” stars Jonas Kaufmann and Anja Hartero in their role debuts. The production by Krzysztof Warlikowski is conducted by Kirill Petrenko and also stars Mika Kares, Okka von der Damerau, and Wolfgang Koch.

The news comes days after the Munich theater announced that it would not be doing a stream of the production due to the pressure a role debut has on an artist. However, the company did not rule it out entirely at the time.

The entire “Tristan und Isolde” run is sold out with three shows remaining on July 8, 13, and 31. The production returns next season with Nina Stemme and Stuart Skelton.
