How to Listen to Teatro Dell’Opera Di Roma’s New Production of Mozart’s ‘Cosi Fan Tutte’

On Jan. 18 the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma will open its new production of Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte.”

The production by Graham Vick will star Francesca Dotto and Federica Lombardi alternating the role of Fiordiligi and Chiara Amarù and Paola Gardina singing the role of Dorabella. Gugliemo will be performed by Vito Priante and Mattia Olivieri  while Ferrando will be sung by Juan Francisco Gatell and Antonio Poli. 

Meanwhile, Despina will be alternated by Monica Bacelli and Daniela Pini. Veteran bass-baritone Pietro Spagnoli and Paolo Bordogna will alternate Don Alfonso.

For those not in Rome, the opening night performance will be Live Streamed on Rai 3  at 7:30 European Time. 

Vick is known for his controversial productions as well as his experimental and revisionist stagings of traditional and modern operas. He has  also worked in many of the world’s leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera and the Pesaro Festival and is currently artistic director of Birmingham Opera Company. Many of his productions are on DVD including Berg’s “Lulu” from the Glyndebourne Festival and Verdi’s “Falstaff” from the Royal Opera. 

Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” will run through Jan. 27.
