Jennifer Davenport has been named the first director of marketing and experience for the Houston Grand Opera.

Her tenure kicks off on September 6 of this year. Davenport previously worked with the Houston Texans, an organization for which she also served as Chief Marketing Officer.

“Her natural gift of hers and her experience in drawing crowds from across our community is exactly what our organization needs and she has acquired through a truly impressive career,” said President and CEO Khori Dastoor in an official statement.

“I am so excited to join HGO at this extraordinary time because this is a world-class institution that exists to inspire Houstonians through great art. That’s something I want to use my expertise on,” Davenport, who also worked in Marketing, Promotions, and Events Manager for the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center, added.

Davenport has also worked for Clear Channel Radio / iHeart Media and is a three-time American Marketing Association Marketer of the Year. She also founded Houston’s Women in Sports and Events Chapter and served on the YMCA of Greater Houston Board of Directors for more than a decade. Her resume also includes a spot as the Executive and Marketing Committee member for the Houston Super Bowl LI Committee.
