Houston Grand Opera Announces Cast Change for ‘Turandot’

The Houston Grand Opera has announced a cast change for its production of “Turandot.”

The company noted that Adriana Gonzalez will perform the role of Liu on May 3 replacing Nicole Heaston.

Gonzalez is currently performing the title role of Juliette in “Romeo et Juliette” in Houston making her company, U.S., and role debut. The soprano is a 2019 Operalia winner who has performed at the Opera de Toulon, Opernhaus Zurich, and Paris Opera, among others.

Gonzalez will join a cast that includes Tamara Wilson, Kristian Benedikt, and Peixin Chen. Robert Wilson directs the production with Eun Sun Kim conducting.

Heaston returns to the production for the final performances on March 6 and 8, 2022.
