The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for Puccini’s “La Bohème”

The company announced that Hila Baggio will sing Musetta in the performance of “La Bohème” on July 7, 2019, replacing Iulia Maria Dan, who is ill.

The performance will mark Baggio’s debut with the company. The soprano has performed with the Israeli Opera, the Angers-Nantes Opéra and Opéra de Rennes. She has also performed with the Opera National de Lorraine, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, the Rossini Opera Festival, and with the Landestheater Mecklenburg, among many others. She is scheduled to return to the Semperoper Dresden in November for Ligeti’s “Le Grand Macabre” led by Omer Meir Wellber.

Baggio joins a cast that includes Hrachuhí Bassénz, Yosep Kang, and Sebastian Wartig. Speranza Scappucci conducts.

Iulia Maria Dan is set to return for the final performance of “La Bohème” on July 12, 2019.
