Hibla Gerzmava To Sing Recital In Carnegie Hall

Hibla Gerzmava is set to return to Carnegie Hall for a recital.

The acclaimed Russian soprano will return to the concert with pianist Ekaterina Ganelina. The recital is part of a six-month, seven-city world tour with stops in Moscow, St. Petersburg, New York, Paris, London, Tel Aviv, and Toronto with a program that will include art songs by such Russian masters as Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov and Prokofiev coupled with those by Hahn and Fauré set. There will also be arias by Verdi and Donizetti.

The upcoming recital will mark Gerzamava’s return to Carnegie Hall having performed in 2017 as a soloist with the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra. The soprano will also be in New York in April in the role of Liù in the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Puccini’s “Turandot” and will return in the title role of “Aida” during the 2020-21 season.

Gerzmava’s recital is set for the Stern Auditorium/Perlman Stage on Friday, November 1, 2019.
