Hibla Gerzmava Cancels Rio De Janiero Debut

Hibla Gerzmava has canceled her  Rio de Janiero debut.

The soprano announced via social media that due to illness she was advised not travel.

“My dear friends in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately due to a very strong flue that I caught during my last tour, I still didn’t recover and my doctors strongly advised me not to travel for the next week,” Gerzmava stated via social media. “This means, that with great regret, I have to cancel my upcoming debut in Rio de Janeiro.  I’m deeply sad and I sincerely hope for your understanding. I work with Grandes Vozes and the Theatro Municipal to find a new date. I wish toi toi toi to my very talented colleague Jessica Pratt, who was ready to fly immediately to Río and sing the concert on the 15/11. Rio de Janeiro, I will come soon!”

Gerzmava recently sang a recital at Carnegie Hall which she next takes to Moscow. The soprano also sings in productions of “Otello” and “Medée” in Moscow.

Pratt recently sang “I Puritais” at the Opera de Marseilles” and is set to sing “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Opera de Oviedo in January.
