The Operalia Competition is set to get underway this Sunday, July 21. Here is a rundown of the competition’s schedule.

The Quarterfinals are slated to take place on Sunday and Monday, July 21 and 22. These live auditions will feature all 40 selected contestants singing two arias with piano accompaniment. Jury members will choose one aria and the contestants will pick the aria from a list of four arias that each contestant submits.

The first 20 singers will audition on July 21 with the second batch set for the 22^nd. On Monday evening, 20 singers will advance to the next round.

The semifinals will take place on July 23^rd with all 20 contestants performing one aria with piano accompaniment. They will also get to perform one option zarzuela aria. At the end of this round, 10 finalists will be announced.

The finals are set for Friday, July 26 with each singer performing one aria with full orchestra under the musical direction of Plácido Domingo. This performance will be showcased live via medici.tv.
