Helios Opera’s digital initiative Modular Opera Project has announced its second season of innovative, accessible, and engaging virtual content.

The new season will feature an original short film, “Giselle” created by and starring NYC’s popular Juilliard-trained Drag Queen Jasmine Rice Labeija and the digital premiere of contemporary comic triumph Service Provider by composer Christopher Weiss and librettist John de los Santos.

Helios will also offer a series of live, virtual workshops aimed at demystifying the business aspects of music and training singers in the technological skills necessary to succeed in today’s digital world. The company is also creating a biweekly Instagram Live Series Fridays at 5:30PM ET, “Bright Spots: Opera Makers Changing the Game.”

The company also plans to offer free virtual watch passes to healthcare and essential workers for MOP21 and will also continue its work with Black Opera Alliance.
