Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival Unveils 2024 Programming

The Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival has announced its 2024 season, led by Co-artistic Director Igor Levit and Artistic Director Thorsten Schmidt.

Here is a rundown of the vocal performances on offer.

Christian Gerheher and Gerold Hubert showcase lieder by Brahms.

Performance Date: March 16, 2024

The Bundesjungenchor will present “PAX – A Choir Theater.” Anne Kohler leads the performance alongside choreographer Gabriel Galindez Cruz. The evening features music by Verdelot, Eisler, Gottwald / Mahler, Tormi, Fußender, and Schönberg, among others.

Performance Date: March 17, 2024

Voces Suaves and Gli Incogniti join forces for “Buxtehude: Membra Jesu Nostri.”

Performance Date: March 19, 2024

The Tenebrae Choir will present “Brahms: Why is the Light Given…?” The performance will feature music by Brahms and Bruckner. George Herbert accompanies at the organ, and Nigel Short conducts.

Performance Date: March 28, 2024

Sabine Devieilhe presents an homage to Vienna alongside pianist Mathieu Pordoy. They will perform music by Berg, Mozart, Wolf, and Strauss.

Performance Date: April 11, 2024

Finally, audiences will get a chance to engage with the Song Festival.

Performance Date: June 8-16, 2024
