Haymarket Opera is set to present Joseph Bologne’s “L’Amant Anonyme” starting on June 17, 2022.

The company will present a full staging of the opera with a cast starring Nicole Cabell, Geoffrey Agpalo, David Govertsen, Erica Schuller, Michael St. Peter, and Nathalie Colas.The performance will also feature the Haymarket Opera Ballet.

According to Haymarket Opera general director and creative producer Chase Hopkins, the performance will also feature a period orchestra of rarely heard 18th century instruments under the musical direction of conductor Craig Trompeter. The production will also include the original and complete French dialogue.

The production will be led by director and choreographer Sarah Edgar.

There will also be a pre-show lecture one hour before each performance featuring musicologist and historian Robert Kendrick.

Additional showcases will take place on June 18 and 19, all of them at the Jarvis Opera Hall.
