Haymarket Opera Double Bill to Get Historic Broadcast

Haymarket Opera’s double bill of “Apollo e Dafne” and “Acis and Galatea” is set to be broadcast via WFMT for the first time in the company’s history.

The broadcast will take place on June 12, 2021 at 12 p.m. and will be hosted by Lisa Flynn. There will also be interviews with general director Chase Hopkins, HOC founder and conductor Craig Trompeter, tenor Michael St. Peter (Acis), and soprano Erica Schuller (Dafne).

“Apollo e Dafne” stars soprano Erica Schuller and baritone Ryan de Ryke in the lead roles while “Acis and Galatea” was headlined by tenor Michael St. Peter, soprano Kimberly Jones, bass David Goversen, and soprano Kaitlin Foley.

The company is set to close out its 2020-21 season with a video production of “Orlando” starring Bejun Mehta, mezzo-soprano Emily Fons, sopranos Kimberly Jones and Erica Schuller, and bass-baritone David Goverston.
