Haymarket Opera Company Names Chase Hopkins as First-Ever General Director

The Haymarket Opera Company’s Board of Directors has announced that Chase Hopkins has been appointed as the company’s first General Director.

Hopkins brings with him experience as a performer as well as a producer, having a Bachelor’s degree and in Performance and Arts Administration from Northwestern University, as well as a Master’s in Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Opera Edwardsville in Illinois and served as the Interim General Director of HOC since March of 2020.

“As Haymarket reflects on the success of its first decade, we are enormously excited to welcome Chase Hopkins into this new leadership position,” writes President of the Board Jerry Tietz. “Chase has already demonstrated remarkable talent, tireless dedication, and an inspiring vision for the future.”

As Interim General Director, Hopkins has led HOC in its 10th Anniversary Season, which featured three new cinematic productions of Handel operas.
