Haymarket Opera Company Announces 2026 Season

Chicago’s Haymarket Opera Company has released details for its upcoming season.
The season kicks off with the U.S. premiere of Johann Adolf Hasse’s “La Semele,” marking its 300th anniversary.
Performance Date: March 27, 2026
Up next is the annual Early Opera Cabaret.
Performance Date: April 30, 2026 (Arts Club of Chicago)
Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s “David et Jonathas” is presented for the first time in Chicago.
Performance Date: June 21, 2026
The season culminates with a new, fully staged co-production of Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo.”
Performance Dates: September 24–27, 2026
