Haydneum Festival of Sacred Music Reveals 2023 Slate

The Haydneum Festival of Sacred Music in Budapest has unveiled its 2023 slate.

The season opens with a performance of music by Charpentier and Strattner featuring such soloists as Katalin Szutrély, Csilla Tillai, Péter Bárány, Péter Meszáros, Márton Komáromi, Lórant Najbauer, Zoltán Melkovics, and Ákos Borka. József Gál conducts the Purcell Choir and Orfeo Orchestra.

Performance Date: June 9, 2023

Next up is a performance of music by Haydn featuring such soloists as Dorottya Láng, Csilla Kovács, Márton Komáromi, and Zsombor Cserményi. Csaba Somos conducts the Budapest Strings and Hungarian National Choir.

Performance Date: June 10, 2023

András Keller leads a performance of “The Seven last Words of Christ” by Haydn. The showcase features the MÁC Symphony Orchestra. 

Performance Date: June 14, 2023

Zoltán Kocsis-Holper leads the Kodály Choir Debrecen and Capella Savaria in music by Haydn and Istvánffy. Soloists include Eszter Zemlényi, Erika Kovalik, Viola Thurnay, József Csapó, and Lőrinc Kósa.

Performance Date: June 16, 2023

György Vashegyi conducts the Purcell Choir and Orfeo Orchestra in music by Werner. The soloists include Ágnes Kovács, Eszter Balogh, Márton Komáromi, Ákos Borka, and Zoltán Melkovics.

Performance Date: June 17, 2023
