Haydneum & Eszterháza Közhasznú to Celebrate 250th Anniversary of Royal Visit with Festival Concert Series

On September 1, 2023, Haydneum will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the royal visit to Eszterháza by Empress Maria Theresa with a festival concert series.

Among the performances will be Haydn’s “L’indedelta delusa.” Conductor György Vashegyi leads a cast comprised of Ella Smith as Vespina, Csilla Kovacs as Sandrina,  Szilveszter Szélpál as Nanni, Bernhard Berchtold as Filippo, and Zoltan Megyesi as Nencio.

Performance Date: September 1, 2023.

There will also be a recital from soprano Katalin Szutrély accompanied by Petra Somlai, featuring works from Haydn and Schubert.

Performance Date: September 4, 2023.

The finale concert will see Vashegyi conduct the Orfeo Orchester, along with Somlai and Szutrély for works such as Haydn’s “Sinfonie Nr. 48 C-Due “Maria Theresia,” Mozart’s “Ch’io mi scordi di te K. 505,” and more.

Performance Date: September 6, 2023.

There will also be concerts held every weekend beginning on July 21 at the Esterházy Fertőd Palace, where audiences can enjoy performances with authentic setting and instruments made possible by the partnership between Haydneum and Eszterháza Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft.
