
Haydneum Announces 4th Eszterháza Festival Featuring Jone Martínez, Raoul Steffani & Stephan MacLeod

The Haydneum Hungarian Centre for Early Music will present the fourth edition of its Eszterháza Festival at Esterházy Palace in Fertőd, Hungary from Aug. 28 through Sept. 5, 2026.
The festival opens with a concert performance of Haydn’s “Orlando paladino,” conducted by György Vashegyi and performed by the Orfeo Orchestra. The cast features Cyrille Dubois in the title role, alongside Jone Martínez as Angelica, Zoltán Megyesi as Medoro, Attila Varga-Tóth as Licone and Pasquale, Ella Marshall Smith as Eurilla, Szilveszter Szélpál as Rodomonte and Caronte, and Katalin Szutrély as Alcina.

Baritone Raoul Steffani and fortepianist Petra Somlai will perform Schubert’s “Winterreise,” D. 911, alongside the Piano Sonata in B-flat major, D. 960.

Bass-baritone Stephan MacLeod will conduct the Orfeo Orchestra in a program including Michael Haydn’s “Salve Regina” in B-flat major and Georg Albrechtsberger’s “Salve Regina” in C minor, alongside orchestral works by Gaspard Fritz and Joseph Haydn. Fortepianist Olga Pashchenko joins as soloist in Haydn’s Piano Concerto No. 11 in D major. MacLeod will also perform as bass soloist.
