Hartford Opera Theater To Showcase ‘New In November 10’

The Hartford Opera Theater will showcase “New in November 10,” a collection of short operas and opera excerpts.

The opera festival will be performed on Sunday, Nov. 17 at The Cathedral House at Christ Church.

The operas set to be showcased in the festival include “Opera Kardashian,” one of the first works to feature a transgender character to be played by a transgender opera singer; it highlights famous reality TV personality Caitlyn Jenner. The new work is written by Dana Kaufman and Tom Swift and stars Paxton Gilliespie as Jenner with Vanessa Pare as Kim Kardashian. Madison Ruta, Madison Finke, and Cameron Cintron play the three Twitterati. Julia Rosenblatt directs with John Hart conducting and Kamilla Mammedova at the piano.

Beth Ratay and Rich Orloff’s “A Womb with a View” will star Katelyn Lewis, Emily Rose Walsh, Sarah Himmelstein, Rachel Abrams, and Madeline Stewich. Moira O’Sullivan directs, while Dan D’Addio conducts and Mijin Choi accompanies at the piano.

Paul Richards and Wendy Steiner “Biennale” is set to feature Olivia Wallace, Jennifer Brevik, Evan Rizvi, and Phillip Fisherman. Hannah Simms directs with Jaimie Lapine conducting and Mark Ceppetelli at the piano.

Elliot Yokum and Sarah Florence Barker “Starsong” will be headlined by Lisa Williamson, Nadia Aguilar, and Kate Callahan Hardman. Michelle Hendrik directs the performance which will be conducted by Sarah Kaufold; Cihan Yucel performs at the piano.

Finally, Timothy Peterson and Sara Fetherolf’s “The Séance” will be performed by Hanna Roemhild, Teryn Kuzman, Charity Clark, Taka Komagata, and Ryan Burns. Christopher Baker directs, Brian Jones conducts, and Stephen Scarlato performs at the piano.
