Harmonium Choral Society Announces 2024-25 Concert Season

The Harmonium Choral Society has announced its 2024-25 concert season.

“Now Angel” open on the season. The program includes Sarah Quartel’s “Snow Angel,” the east coast premiere of Joe Gregorio’s “Unbound Angels,” and favorites by Bruckner, Buxtehude, Hailstork, and Rossi.

Performance Dates: December 7 & 8, 2024

“Sing Me to Heaven” offers a comforting and uplifting reflections on life’s end, featuring Eleanor Daley’s “Requiem,” and works by Heinrich Schütz, Dave Matthews, and Caldwell, and Ivory.

Performance Dates: March 1 & 2, 2025

Select chamber singers traverse stages of life and musical eras through the music of William Byrd, Herbert Howells, Abbie Betinis, and others in “On My Journey.”

Performance Dates: May 3 & 4, 2025

Up next, The Harmonium Choral Society presents the 28th High School Choral Composition Contest winner as well as works by Melissa Dunphy, Saunder Choi, and Elizabeth Alexander. This concert takes place in partnership with Literacy Volunteers of Morris County and Wind of the Spirit Immigration Resource Center of NJ.

Performance Dates: June 7 & 8, 2025

Community events held throughout the season include Beer Choir at Glenbrook Brewery, the bi-annual Halloween concert with Grace Community Music, First Night Morris, Violins of Hope featuring Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms with the New Jersey Youth Symphony and New Jersey Youth Chorus, and Broadway Cabaret.
