
Hanna Brammer Headlines Sarasota Opera’s ‘Susannah’
By Francisco SalazarSarasota Opera is set to present Floyd’s “Susannah“ on March 14.
This will be the fourth and final production in its 2026 Winter Festival and will be shown six times through March 28.
The opera will star soprano Hanna Brammer in the title role, bass-baritone Jason Zacher as Olin Blitch and tenor Jeremy Brauner as brother Sam.
The production will be conducted by Jessé Martins and directed by Martha Collins, with scenic design by Keith Brumley, costume design by Howard Tsvi Kaplan, and lighting design by Ken Yunker.
In a statement Collins said, “Floyd’s score is renowned for its melodic accessibility and directness, blending American folk melodies, traditional folk hymns and powerful operatic drama which perfectly depicts the moods and tension of this Tennessee setting.”
