The Handel and Haydn Society Youth Chorus New Voices group has partnered with a TiTi Ta Children’s Choir of Popayán, Colombia for a one of a kind musical education experience that showcase students from both choirs in a special virtual choral concert that will be streamed Saturday, Sept.  5, 2020 at 11:00 am.

The performance will include Nurt Villani conducting the HHYC New Voices group.

Throughout the program, all the singers and families gathered on Zoom to meet the composer of one of the Spanish pieces, introduce the instruments that accompany the Colombian songs and gave the students the opportunity to greet each other.

The singers were matched up as “pen pals” and the New Voices singers engaged in sessions on Colombian food and dance and other aspects of the culture.
