Gregory Kunde, Clémentine Margaine, & Florian Sempey Headline ‘Meyerbeer Month’ at Deutsche Oper Berlin

Deutsche Oper Berlin will showcase three operas by Giacomo Meyerbeer, starting on Feb. 2, 2020 and ending on March 8, 2020.

The first Meyerbeer opera to take the stage on Feb. 2, 2020 will be “Les Huguenots.” The cast will include Liv Redpath, Seth Carico, Dimitris Tiliakos, Olesya Golovneva, Irene Roberts, Jörg Schörner, Paul Kaufmann, Padraic Rowan, Alexei Botnarciuc, Stephen Bronk, Anton Rositskiy, Andrew Harris, Andrei Danilov, Timothy Newton, Jacquelyn Stucker and Karis Tucker.

Alexander Vedernikov will conduct the production by David Alden with set design by Giles Cadle, and costumes by Constance Hoffman.

The run of “Les Huguenots” ends on March 8 after a total of four performances.

The revival of “Le prophète” is scheduled for February 23, with the cast that includes Gregory Kunde, Clémentine Margaine, Elena Tsallagova, Derek Welton, Gideon Poppe, Thomas Lehman, Seth Carico, Jacquelyn Stucker, Anna Buslidze, Ya-Chung Huang, Byung Gil Kim, Michael Kim, Samuel Dale Johnson and Timothy Newton.

Enrique Mazzola is set to conduct the production by Olivier Py with set design and costumes by Pierre-André Weitz.

“Le prophète” will end on March 6, appearing on stage for a total of three performances.

Finally, a concert version of Meyerbeer’s opéra comique “Dinorah ou Le Pardon de Ploërmel” will be presented on March 4 and March 7.

Enrique Mazzola will lead the cast that includes Rocío Pérez, Florian Sempey, Philippe Talbot, Seth Carico, Gideon Poppe, Nicole Haslett and Karis Tucker.
