Greer Grimsley, Nathan Berg, & Denyce Graves Feature in Minnesota Opera’s 3D ‘Das Rheingold’

On November 14, 2020 Minnesota Opera will present Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” in a new, 3D format which will be available to stream online.

This digital experience adapts the company’s 2016 production with the help of production company Sweet Sadie.

“The sheer size and scope of ‘Das Rheingold’ presents a massive challenge for any opera company,” said President and General Director Ryan Taylor. “We were lucky to have the resources and creativity necessary to stage this piece successfully in 2016. We’re proud to be able to bring this momentous production back to life in a way that does justice to the original in-person experience.”

Minnesota Opera will also be sharing content related to the show, such as artist conversations, a behind-the-curtains podcast, and a panel discussion.

Conducted by Michael Christine, the cast includes Greer Grimsley as Wotan; Nathan Berg as Alberich; Denyce Graves as Erda; Julian Close and Jeremy Galyon as Fafner and Fasolt, respectively; and Mary Evelyn Hangley, Alexandra Razskazoff, and Nadia Benavidez as the Rhinemaidens.

Tickets may be purchased on Minnesota Opera’s website, with the production being available from November 14 -28, 2020.
