The Greek National Opera is set to present “Callas at the Herodium” on Sept. 16, 2023.

The showcase will star Anna Pirozzi, Catherine Foster, Vassiliki Karayanni, and Nina Minasyan performing arias that Maria Callas once performed from such operas as “Hamlet,” “The Masterbuilder,” “La Forza del Destino,” “Fidelio,” “Lucia di Lammermoor,” “Il Trovatore,” and “Tristan und Isolde.”

Philippe Augin will conduct the Greek National Opera Orchestra.

“With this GNO program, presented to mark the centennial of Maria Callas, we hope to showcase her connections to our opera house, but also to connect younger generations with the legendary Callas as a shining example of talent and hard work, of dedication and impeccability and brilliance,” said Giorgos Koumendakis in an official press statement.

The concert kicks off at 8:30 p.m. at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

This program is part of a larger celebration of Maria Callas, including “Callas to Medea – An Installation in Three Acts,” “Callas at the Herodium,” and “Visualizing the Voice of Maria Callas.”
