Grand Théâtre De Genève To Stream ‘Pelléas et Mélisande’

The Grand Théâtre De Genève has announced that it will stream a production of Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” which was due to premiere on Jan. 18, 2021.

The production will be filmed without the presence of a live audience, respecting all the safety measures imposed by the government of Switzerland due to new COVID-19 regulations in Switzerland.

The opera is set to feature Jacques Imbrailo, Mari Eriksmoen, and Leigh Melrose. Jonathan Nott conducts the Orchester de la Suisse Romande in a joint production by Larbi Cherkaoui, Damien Jalet, and Marina Abramović.

The opera will be broadcast live on GTG digital and le Play de la RTS on Jan. 18, the date of the premiere. The production will then be offered on the OperaVision platform starting Feb. 19, 2021.
