Grand Rapids Symphony has announced its new President and CEO.

The organization revealed that Keith C. Elder will take on the new position, taking over for Mary Tuuk Kuras, who retired this past December. His tenure is set to commence on July 1, 2023.

“I am deeply honored to assume the role of President and CEO of the Grand Rapids Symphony, an organization with an outstanding legacy of artistic achievements, education, and community engagement,” said Elder in an official press statement issued by the company. “I eagerly anticipate becoming an active member of the Grand Rapids community and joining the Grand Rapids Symphony family. I look forward to fostering strong relationships with all Symphony stakeholders, including our patrons, supporters, and partners, as we work together to further the Symphony’s mission.

Elder has held numerous positions with such organizations as the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and School, Eastman School of Music, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Tanglewood Music Center.
