Gran Teatre del Liceu Announces Two Cast Changes for ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced cast changes for its April 19 performance of “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The company noted that the role of Susanna will be played by Arianna Vendittelli, replacing Angela Brower, and the role of Countess of Almaviva will be performed by Iulia Maria Dan, replacing Ana-Maria Labin.

Vendittelli is a well known in Italy and has performed at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, and Teatro Comunale in Bologna, among others. She is a well known Mozartian who has performed in “Don Giovanni,” “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “Il Re Pastore,” and “Cosi fan tutte,” among others.

Meanwhile, Dan is scheduled to perform in the Liceu’s “Don Giovanni.” She is also set to perform “Don Giovanni” at the Opera de Bordeaux and “Otello” at the Oper Leipzig.

Both singers join a cast that includes Thomas Dolié, Robert Gleadow, and Lea Desandre.
