Gran Teatre del Liceu Announces Production Change for ‘I Capuleti e I Montecchi’

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a production change for its upcoming “I Capuleti e I Montecchi” during the 2026-27 season.

The company said that due to production conditions, it will no longer be able to present the Adrian Noble production from the Teatro alla Scala.

As a result, it will present Allex Aguilera’s production from 2024 at the Opera Royal de Wallonie-Liège.

“I Capuleti e I Montecchi” will be conducted by Riccardo Frizza and will star Lisette Oropesa and Raffaella Lupinacci alongside Iván Ayón-Rivas and Marko Mimica. A second cast will include Marina Monzó, Caterina Piva and Omar Mancini.

The production opens on Oct. 30 and runs through Nov. 22, 2026.
