The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced the artists for its 175th-anniversary concert.
The company noted that Àngel Òdena, Giacomo Prestia, Marta Mathéu, Manel Esteve, and Raúl Giménez will join Joseph Calleja and Anna Netrebko in the gala.
The evening will include Act two scene from Verdi’s “Macbeth” as well as Act two from “La bohème” and Act two scene two of “Turandot.”
Netrebko will sing Lady Macbeth, Turandot, and Musetta while Calleja will sing Calaf, Rodolfo, and Macduff. Òdena will portray Macbeth, Marcello, and Mandarín while Prestia will sing Banquo and Colline.
Mathéu will sing the Dama, Mimì, and Liù while Esteve will take on the role of Schaunard and Ping and Gimenez will sing the Emperador Altoum.
The gala will take place on April 3, 2022 with Valentina Carrasco directing and Marco Armiliato conducting.
