The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a cast change for its production of “Orgia”

The company said that baritone Christian Miedl will join the production of “Orgia,” scheduled for next April, replacing Jonathan McGovern, who for personal reasons has left the production.

Miedl has appeared on the opera stage at the Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Stuttgart State Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Hamburg State Opera, the Wiener Festwochen and at the opera houses of Cologne, Lyon, Frankfurt, Bonn, Basel, Malmö, Seattle and Karlsruhe. His opera repertoire the music of Mozart, Rossini, Wagner and Strauss.

The baritone joins a cast that includes Aušrinė Stundytė, and Jone Martínez. Calixto Bieito directs the opera by Hector Parra. Pierre Bleuse conducts the production which is set to performed on April 11 and 13, 2024.
