The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a cast change for its gala performance on June 6, 2025.

The company said that “mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine joins the Liceu’s Opera Gala, replacing Ekaterina Semenchuk, who will not be able to participate due to medical recommendations.”

Margaine is known as one of the great mezzos of her generation, having performed at The Metropolitan Opera, Opéra national de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Colón, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Teatro di San Carlo, Opera Australia, and the Canadian Opera Company.

For the gala, she performs alongside Marina Rebeka, Martin Muehle, and Ludovic Tézier. Giuseppe Finzi conducts the evening.
